Summer food.  It has to be cool, fresh, and not require me to light any flames in a kitchen which is boiling hot already.  Add a coworker who is sweet enough to bring you fresh mint and other herbs from her garden, a tip on a recipe, and there you have it.  It’s all good stuff: watermelon, arugula, fresh mint (go crazy), really nice cheese (capricho de cabra, it sounds like chupacabra, making me like it even more), but the dressing is my favorite part: fresh squeezed orange and lemon juice, a spoonful of honey, a minced shallot, salt, pepper, a couple glugs of olive oil, that’s all.  Makes a gal mighty thankful.

p.s.  Though the windowsill is charming, I’m going to likely have some new backdrops and photographic inspiration soon, wink wink.
