The plains are blasting out all around us as we drive home today from a visit to Chicago. Our bellies are full of vegetables fresh from our friends’ garden, our hearts are stuffed with good cheer, and my camera is full of exposed film, to be processed upon our return. Alabama Chrome is keeping us company with a high and lonesome sound.
For now my thoughts are on my dear little friend, Lydia, who is safe in her new Chicago home with her brother and sister, and her cousin Arthur. It’s new adventures for her, and for us, and for now it’s so long, with love.
