This morning we’re packing our things to move to New Zealand. It is only fitting, before this long journey, that I honor my favorite vehicle. It brought me all over the USA, to which I bid a fond farewell today.
There once was a van named the White Rhino. It toured for miles and miles across the USA, fearlessly carrying tons of amplifiers, guitars, drums, and bands, oh the bands: Out On Bail, Big Timber, Pariah Caste, Red Cloud, Ghost Buffalo, The Uncertain Sea, Call Sign Cobra, Oblio Duo, Eyes & Ears, The Reddmen, and so many more. It soared the vast highways from dive bar to dive bar, withstood many earthy smells and spills, and witnessed various human trials, travails, and triumphs. These photos were taken and printed circa 2004, mostly, and I hope they convey the true Rhino experience in all it’s beauty. RIP Rhino; you’ll live on in our hearts for all time.
Denver, so long. I’ll be seeing you soon.
