Two beautiful walks in a row! Wait, I’ve been having a beautiful walk almost everyday for a month. Walking is such a good way to practice noticing. I just finished Alain de Botton’s On Seeing and Noticing; highly recommended for those interested in those things. These are from a walk to Raumiti through Queen Elizabeth Park.

The way out was the coastal walkway, followed by lunch at the Raumiti Social Club. They’ve got the best sound-diffusing panels made of rugs (see the ceilings?) and absolutely rad tea cozies made from recycled blankets (I think) by a local.

The stroll back was the inland route; rolling green hills, radio flyers in the air, birdsongs, cows, and grassy trails.

You can see lots more Paekakariki photographs here too, along with loads of other random noticings.
