I am thankful for celebrating the most delicious USA holiday amongst new friends. And they know how to celebrate, even if they have never had pumpkin pie. We were taken in by another expat who lives in a gorgeous 19th century house with a few other generous individuals, and a potluck was had in honor of Thanksgiving. I didn’t really notice, but there wasn’t a turkey. The salads, cranberry sauce, potatoes, kumera, bread, green jello, etc. more than filled me up, body and soul. We feasted, talked, spoke about what we felt thankful for, and blasted off fireworks. All good, and once again, I am so impressed at the hospitality of strangers.

Today I very much miss my family and friends, and am so thankful to know you in my little life. I am thankful to spend such a beautiful day in this city, with great people, so near to nature, with so many blessings around us. May you spend the day warm, full, and near your loved ones.
