Ngawi is near the southern-most tip of the North Island. We came up and over via Martinborough, known for its wineries, but we came too early for wine tasting (even for us). The ocean still shocks me every time I see it pop up between hills as we crest them, like I didn’t know it was there just beyond. We hunted for treasure on the black coarse sand, and found my first pāua without even having to dive for it.

Beautiful! But, “too early for wine tasting”. Is such a thing possible? 🙂

Beautiful photos! And I’m insanely jealous of those shells. May have to backtrack to NZ just for those. Amazing!
