…this lousy photo. Because I was having such a great time watching the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra, in Wellington. Uke dream come true. My favorite song, beside their own It’s a Heartache, probably was a cover of Toto’s Africa. That song was written to be played on the uke. And to sweeten the pot, James Hill and Anne Janelle were there from Canada, shredding just like they did when I saw them a few years back at Denver Uke Fest. Things coming round full circle, in their own little ways. I’m still grinning from this show.
Correction: the trusty chief proofreader of the oilrainbows has found that the WIUO were not the writers of It’s a Heartache. Rather, it was Bonnie Tyler in the glorious 70’s. And if you really dig it, you can seek out Arab Strap’s cover of the same tune for more of a heartache fix.
