We live in a beautiful state. For the past few years a bunch of us Denver city folk have banded together for a weekend in the mountains. It is not rough, but it is far enough away that we can look at the stars, tramp through the sage grass and the aspens, and spend time around the campfire in good company. Eating outdoors is one of the best parts, and we cooked the usual suspects, as well as our signature roasted apples, and biscuits and cinnamon rolls over the coals. Each year our group changes, and this year there were more dogs, one new tiny human, and for us, another life growing and still a mystery.
